The net features infrared sensors mounted above the net posts. The heart of the net: the technology, is located inside the net posts.
This is where the signal is processed when the ball breaks through the infrared light barrier. When this happens, a red light on the side of the net post will illuminate. This signal is positioned so that only the referee can see it, so players aren't distracted. An acoustic signal has also been omitted to avoid distraction.

How it works
The net is activated using the on/off switch. An additional positioning laser ensures that the net posts are at the same height and the laser is perfectly aligned. When this is the case, a green signal appears. The table tennis net is now ready for use.
